Simple and straightforward marinade for shish kabobs! I used olive oil vs. veg. along with low sodium soy sauce. For the mustard, I used dijon left out the salt and cut the pepper in one-half. I reserved some of the marinade for the veggies and marinated the meat all day in a ziploc handbag. I skewered the veggies (adding some reddish tomatoes) and meat separate basing the veggies with the reserved marinade. Overall, very tasty!

Worcestershire and soy sauce accept a lot of table salt to begin with, and so when I saw adding more than table salt, I passed. This was a good telephone call. In addition, unlike some marinades with soy sauce, this didn't impart an oriental flavor, which I'm not addicted of with steak; another plus. The flavors came together well with none dominating another and with that proficient sometime beef season coming through. I'm a recent catechumen to marinades, preferring but seasoned meats, but I'd make this again.

Great beef marinade, the lemon adds a dainty twist and some nice flavor. I just had an hr to marinate, and so I let them sit in fridge for 1/two 60 minutes and on the counter for one/2 hr. My kabobs turned out keen!! Thanks for a dandy recipe, I'll be using this marinade for plainly steak besides.
04/08/2015
I fabricated this for an outdoor dinner political party for 8 people and doubled the recipe. Used depression sodium soy sauce and switched the vegetable oil for olive oil which was perfect! I also added more veggies such as yellow squash and zucchini and yellow, red, orange and light-green peppers. I served the kabobs with basmati rice, a Greek salad and a baguette of freshly baked french bread. Not simply was the recipe a beautiful colorful presentation, my guests loved information technology and actually asked for the extra sauce that was the marinade. Definitely would make over again!

I did everything I could to mess this up and they yet tasted great. I only had 4 hours to marinate and so I went with that. And then it started raining and I didn't grill. I ended up putting the veggies in a pan and cooking half way done. And so I threw in the meat and browned information technology. Poured the marinade over brought to a eddy and did a quick stir fry. It was delicious and even my picky husband liked information technology. I served it with Classic Rice Pilaf on AR by Chef John. Perfect pair. I wouldn't change a thing.
08/07/2011
The just modify I made was to go out out the mushrooms since my family doesn't like them. We marinated the meat a total of 8 hours and served over a bed of wild rice. My viii year old had seconds and said this recipe is "a keeper!" We all loved it! Thanks for sharing this succulent summer BBQ treat.
08/08/2011
Our first fourth dimension making kabobs. Nosotros marinated the meat (simply not the mushrooms) in a vacuum-seal handbag for ii hours and ditched the leftover marinade rather than saving for basting. Turned out great!
01/31/2012
In that location is a error that most people do, the shish kabob are no the 1 in the photo. Actually the shish is the thing that we utilise to grill meat (the wooden stick inthe motion-picture show). The kabobs, in arabic kabab, is ground meat with garlic and special spices for the kabab. Anyway the one in the picture is simply called grilled meat, and we unremarkably grill with it onions. Bon appetit.

Made this last dark - a huge striking! I marinated the beef (used tenderloin) and mushrooms separately. I too left out the extra common salt and no one added salt at the dinner tabular array. I also used dissever skewers for the run across and vegetables, then I could control the cooking a fleck better - veggies cooked at medium and beefiness on high. The butcher mentioned that the tenderloin could get tough if overcooked - cooked it for well-nigh ten minutes and it was perfect - medium rare. Used the marinade from the mushrooms for basting on the grill.
05/27/2016
Information technology was ok just I'm sure my (not so great) cooking had a lot to do with it. My meat manager suggested using a sirloin steak that was on sale. That cut wasn't hearty enough. Tin anyone advise the cut of beef for kabobs? Thanks.
09/03/2011
This marinade is awesome!!The ingredients are not overpowering notwithstanding they just enhance the excellent flavor of the kabobs.I will utilise this recipe again and for other beef dishes!
04/17/2014
i beloved this marinade, only instead of marinating the meat for 8 hours then adding the mushrooms for another eight hours i just made a double batch of marinade, and put the mushrooms in another baggie and did them together for viii hours, turned out wonderful
01/19/2012
Perfect marinade! I've used this a couple of times now and everybody loves it! The merely change I make is to reduce the salt--I utilize a heavy one/2 teaspoon. I marinate the meat as long as I tin can--sometimes just a one-half a day and it comes out tender and flavorful! Definitely a keeper!
x/22/2014
Super like shooting fish in a barrel marinade! All of these ingredients are staples in our household. I currently have filet chunks marinating for kabobs...everything smelled bully, then I expect they'll gustation even improve. I ditched the additional table salt since the soy/'shire/mustard combo have high salt contents. Ready to fire upward the grill...
07/04/2012
VERY tasty marinade! Made several times, each a large hit with everyone. Changes I fabricated was omit the salt, added a dash of hot sauce, and added some ruby-red pepper flakes. Definitely a keeper.
04/18/2015
Love this recipe. But practiced meat is a must. We bought a steak the first time, marinaded it for two hours and information technology was amazing. The 2nd time nosotros used a roast, marinaded it for 24 hours and it was too chewy for us to cease.
10/06/2013
This is i of my favorite recipes for Shish Kabobs! I also honey it with chicken.
05/24/2013
The flavour is good, merely quite strong. I would go with just marinating and no basting, or no marinating and only basting. The veggie skewers (which I did dissever from the meat), I basted a couple times through grilling and they were perfect!
01/07/2015
Many times now best on the grill but however great in the broiler in wintertime months.
07/05/2013
When my husband took a bite of this he just stood there, wide-eyed and his mouth agape in disbelief at how good this was. Definitely going to be making this over again and again. It was already very salty without calculation the salt. I also put some summer squash and cherry tomatoes on the skewers. Pinnacle round worked really well for this recipe.
04/03/2015
The season of this is amazing. Good cooked under a broiler when I don't want to use the grill. Serve over rice.
02/11/2015
Delicious! I followed the recipe exactly. I nigh got lazy and threw out the excess marinade, but I was so glad I didn't. Heated up, it made a neat gravy. I actually used my broiler instead of a grill, but information technology worked perfectly.
07/24/2013
This is probably the all-time recipe I have found on this website! The marinade is and then versatile. I apply the marinade on only the vegetables most of the time and it comes out so fantastic. I accept relatives over and they all wanted to take this recipe home with them. I recently used the marinade on some pork loin and beef for kabobs and it only infuses the meat with so much flavor. My simply tip when making this recipe is to cutting the vegetables in giant chunks so that when you start to get to the bottom of the basin, you don't loose the ingredients in the marinade. This is because there will be a lot left over on the lesser. Like I said, I honey this recipe and I will exist using it for my upcoming wedding ceremony!
06/01/2013
memorial mean solar day hit, marinated the steak for i 1/2 days and turned everytime I opened the fridge. Meat was tender. I used sirloin steak cutting into cubes. Very proficient will make again for sure.
09/21/2014
I followed the recipe and my family loved it! This would besides be a great marinade for a cheap or tough piece of meat.
05/17/2016
We made this dish for company and it was delicious-ate the leftovers warmed up in a pita with Tzatziki sauce. Yum!!
02/21/2012
Crawly! I followed the recipe every bit written, w/the exception of the black pepper (I detest it) and I chose not to marinate my veggies, but the beef. Awesome. Did I say that already? Our meat was fifty-fifty a scrap tough (non the all-time cut of meat to employ for this) and it was still awesome. Great flavor that enhanced the natural beef flavor. This will be a staple beef marinade in the LTH house. Thanks and so much mnmike!
12/28/2016
I've used this marinade dozens of times to rave reviews every single time. I prefer to let the meat marinade for but two-iv hours. I notice that information technology only tastes similar marinade if I permit information technology become the 8+ hours the recipe recommends. I like meat to taste like meat. Using a shorter marinade fourth dimension just enhances the flavor instead of changing it. I commonly use information technology with beef only it also works well with chicken.
03/15/2015
Oh MY Gosh! This is absolutely crazy good. Don't hesitate to try it. I love that it'southward merely everyday ingredients we all have in the house, no special trips to fodder for weird ingredients. Just expert ordinary food. I can't wait to make this once more.
07/26/2016
Continue this one handy. It'due south a definite keeper. We used NY strips the first time then ribeyes the second fourth dimension. Both were first-class.
05/30/2016
Marinated overnight and added the mushrooms (likewise as some eggplant cubes which I salted and allowed to "sweat" before adding to the marinade) in the morning. Super tasty
08/ten/2014
I dear this recipe! This has become my go-to marinade. I've made it countless times over about v years. Anybody is blown abroad when I use this marinade. I do recommend using a meat mallet on tougher meats though
09/05/2014
The marinade tasted awesome, information technology gave the meat a really expert taste. We cooked the shish kebabs on a small charcoal grill,so it took a bit longer(like approx. 45mins). Thanks for the receipe idea!
05/27/2013
Was hesitant to follow this recipe, only because it didn't have equally many reviews as another recipe, but I'm glad I did. It was delicious. Used all the ingredients exactly as listed except mushrooms, and merely marinated the top sirloin almost 4-1/2 hrs. I also didn't baste the meat, merely didn't need to, information technology turned out great. Used green peppers, onions, Campari tomatoes, yellow squash and light-green zucchini. Volition use this recipe again.
06/08/2014
Only alter I made was to NOT add together the salt. Unless the original recipe called for low-sodium soy sauce, no extra salt is needed. In fact, we idea it was yet on the salty side and so next fourth dimension I will try it with depression sodium soy sauce and add only salt to taste. I skewered the mushrooms and meat together and the onion and pepper seperately and so the veggies could cook longer. Everyone here enjoyed this after about 10 hours of total marinade time. Definitely making this once again!
08/31/2013
This was an excellent marinade! We pretty much followed information technology verbatim and used some different veggies. I would probably use reduce sodium soy sauce the adjacent time we make information technology however because information technology was just a footling on the salty side for our taste, only it was still very tasty.
05/25/2015
Was and so easy and really yummy. I used sirloin as well every bit LAMB (so so good!!). I added a bigger selection of vegetables; listed veggies plus whole mini red, yellow and orangish bell peppers, zucchini and snap peas and bacon wrapped whole pearl onions (yum). I also used separate skewers for the meat and veggies to better command melt fourth dimension for each. Served over jasmine rice and all my kids and hubby loves them. Will definitely make these again!!!
05/01/2012
Very good.
08/01/2016
These are amazing! I used to utilise a different marinade but I wanted to try something else and I'm so glad I did. I simply loved this marinade and so did the rest of the family. Due to a few people in our family unit having sodium restricted diets, I used 'sweet soy' and left out the boosted salt. Someone asked what type of beefiness to use for shish kabobs and I always use stew meat. This volition be my go-to recipe from now on when grilling shish kabobs. It's of import to use the remainder of the marinade for basting, like the recipe suggests. It really put information technology over the top!
09/29/2015
Fabricated this a few times now, and the whole family unit quite likes it. The other times I just marinated the meat for a couple hours and the mushrooms non at all - this time, even so; I marinated the full time and the mushrooms as well. I will definitely marinate the mushrooms from now on - so much ameliorate! The meat I found was too salty marinating for the full time though, then I call back I'll cut the salt in half side by side time.
09/25/2016
Very succulent! I did not add any salt as no demand with some of the ingredients being salty enough, used olive oil instead of vegetable oil, dijon mustard, low sodium soy sauce, sirloin steak. I did add pineapple and scarlet tomatoes to the kabobs. We all loved the flavor! Will definitely employ this recipe again! Cheers for sharing!
03/20/2017
Added crimson pepper flakes to give it a kicking
09/18/2017
just made this recipe tonight and did non change a matter! Everybody loved it ! The meat was very tender and the flavor was astonishing. The edges of the meat and veggies were brown and crispy while the residual was perfectly cooked. Tip: If you are using skewers that are larger than the thin bamboo ones, make sure you cutting your veggies pretty large. And make sure you get large mushrooms. I sliced an boilerplate carmine and greenish bell pepper into fourths and then cut each ane of those in one-half. If veggies are also small they split and fall of skewers. I will be making these again for sure.
09/27/2016
Similar others on hither I used olive oil vs vegetable oil, I used low sodium soy and sea salt vs tabular array table salt...the marinade is one I volition be using for EVERYTHING now...and so good, I marinated overnight. My just trouble was my veggies weren't as done every bit I would have liked them(I used zucchini, summertime squash, red bell peppers and onion and potatoes) I par boiled the potatoes before I skewered them so thankfully those were perfect! Besides has anyone tried stew meat for this? Our meat got a little too tough, The cutting I bought was Texas style something because they didn't have sirloin.
08/03/2019
I didn't add the table salt, thank goodness. Information technology's still a little too salty but that could exist my pregnancy taste buds because this is pretty close to my own steak marinade. Anyways, I added five or six shakes of basil, cutting downwards on the lemon a tad bit and added two cloves of garlic. All in all my whole family was very happy with it, and so that makes me very happy with information technology. (Minus the super salty flavor, but again I blame the pregnancy)
06/18/2018
The proportions are off in this recipe. I fabricated 9 skewers and there was not enough marinade for all of the beef and vegetables. Marinade is also very boring so I added one tbsp of sesame oil, another ane/four loving cup of olive oil, lime juice and zest instead of lemon (lime and beef go much better together than lemon), ane/2 loving cup of water, ane/2 loving cup of Asian Sesame Vinaigrette salad dressing, ane/4 cup of dark-brown sugar. This was a desperate season comeback and likewise increased the amount of marinade. Do non skimp on the salt and pepper, the meat and vegetables demand the seasoning. A large basin works fine, there is no need to waste product plastic bags for the marinade. I parboiled the onions and blood-red peppers for about v minutes to soften them a trivial otherwise with only 15 minutes on the grill you finish upwards with raw vegetables on your skewers which I think is gross. I practise not enjoy biting into a chunk of raw onion. Trust me on the parboil method. Yous exercise non desire to boil them to mush or you can't skewer them. By doing this, the onions and peppers stop cooking on the grill and the onions in particular tin start to caramelize a bit. I just used vidalia onions, mushroom caps and red peppers as light-green peppers tin can be likewise biting. xv minutes on the grill and the marinade turned into basting sauce, these ended upward very adept. Information technology would not have been a success if the vegetables went on the grill raw. Be sure y'all boil the leftover marinade if you plan on using it every bit basting sauce or you will be basting your skewers
08/12/2014
Information technology was good simply alittle salty for my gustatory modality. Adjacent time I will use depression sodium soy.
09/22/2014
This recipe is our to go to when we are looking for a quick yummy dinner. Now that information technology is summertime I'm calculation fresh peppers from the garden. Thank you for sharing this recipe
06/23/2014
Made these for our camping trip and they were a hitting! I had the beef marinating in a ziplock bag and the veggies all washed and cut upward in some other ziplock. When I got in that location I put them on the skewers and they cooked quickly and were delicious!
05/26/2016
This was a last minute conclusion to have beef kabobs so I could merely marinate for 2 i/two and it was notwithstanding very flavorful. I followed recipe except added pineapple chunks instead of mushrooms since I didn't take mushrooms. Put everything (except pineapples) in nix bag, seasoned with Goya seasoning, then added the marinade and let sit in fridge for 2 one/2 hrs. Put them on skewers and baked in a pre-heated broiler for 8 minutes each side. Served over beef flavored rice. Added corn on the cob every bit a side. Actually quick repast and fifty-fifty quicker if yous are marinating the mean solar day before! This is a keeper.
04/14/2013
My family unit actually liked it, although we all agreed it was a tad likewise salty, and that was subsequently I reduced the common salt. I would propose completely removing the salt from the recipe, as most soya sauces are salty enough to carry this recipe. I recall I will add a piffling more zip to information technology next time with some stale chili peppers. All in all though, quite satisfactory.
07/eleven/2019
We followed the recipe hither and information technology turned out beautifully. The steak was tender and juicy, the vegetables were dandy and the Mushrooms were dynamite.
10/07/2016
This is a great recipe! I skewered the veges separately from the meat and mushrooms, Grilled the veges for 6 or 7 minutes and so moved them to the other side of the grill to finish cooking away from the coals. I put the steak and mushroom skewers on and cooked them for about 4 mins on each side. Soooooo proficient! Thanks Mnmike, your Mom was right on!
06/29/2012
Excellent! Didn't modify a matter and wouldn't even endeavor!
05/03/2015
This recipe was excellent. I didn't accept plenty regular soy sauce so I used sweet soy sauce.
01/sixteen/2017
Made marinade as instructed. Used both top sirloin and chicken and marinaded overnight. Otherwise, followed directions and information technology was awesome!!! Served information technology over an olive oil and garlic wheat cous cous!! This is a keeper!!!!
04/07/2015
These tasted then flavorful simply a piddling as well salty exercise Non add together the 1 one/2 tsp common salt.
07/21/2019
Great recipe equally is. Longer marinating time makes the meat more tender.
08/03/2012
Oustanding. I made this recipes exactly as written except marinated meat for just about four hours. Succulent! Thank you
09/18/2016
I omitted the common salt. The Soy sauce in it is salty enough. Information technology was amazing! We even used it on our shrimp, craven & beef kabobs. Succulent!
x/29/2015
Thank you for sharing!!!! My family & friends loves this recipe. I didn't change anything. We even employ this our stakes.
07/15/2015
I fabricated this twice, I had a lot of compliments. It'due south very good, makes fifty-fifty ranch steak tender
05/ten/2013
So so so good. Used sirloin. The marinade is delicious!
07/29/2017
I made this today. I thought it was very expert. Like some of the other reviews I did not add salt. Next time I would try low sodium soya sauce. This is a keeper.
08/06/2013
This was very tasty ! I usually only marinate the beef in italian dressing, simply this was a meg times better. Was not certain nigh the soy sauce (I dont unremarkably care for the taste}. But this was amazing!! Volition definitely use once again for other beefiness recipes.
06/21/2013
I tried this marinade last nighttime and it was a big striking with my family unit. Both of my extremely fussy children had second helpings of the steak! I fabricated a few tweaks by omitting the mushrooms, doubling the lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce, and cutting the common salt in one-half. All in all an fantabulous recipe. Thank you for sharing!
eleven/22/2018
Simple and tasty - exactly how grilling should be. Exist sure to marinate every bit written for expert season.
06/22/2015
I made these for my family and they loved them even the one's who don't like this type of food ate the out of them! We used the exact recipe and information technology was and then yummy nosotros couldn't stop eating them!!! Cheers
04/12/2013
Alright. My husband doesn't desire information technology once more tho.
07/27/2017
Was and so good, fabricated it over again few days later. Definitely saved this one!
11/29/2015
Friggen awesome! Made these for a bunch of racers after a triathlon and it was heaven on earth, they were very well received.
02/fifteen/2014
I was searching for a marinade that sounded skilful and this striking the spot. I, like many others, omitted the additional salt and I was running low on lemon juice and then I used less than what was called for. Too, because I actually savor ginger, I added several tablesppons of fresh grated ginger. The recipe adjuster made it very easy for me to tweak for the group I needed to melt for (kabob for 50+)! Very impressed with the marinade and I anticipate I will use it oft in the futurity
04/30/2020
these were skilful, easy to make.
04/24/2017
Made this for my husband with cubed boneless short ribs.cubed. Use lime juice instead of lemon and no salt. My hubby loved it. Said it was one of the all-time marinades ever. will definitely make over again for shish m-bobs and other meat Than you.
05/31/2019
It's just okay. I so wanted to like this recipe. I followed some of the other reviewers communication and omitted the salt merely I think it needed the salt. It was rather bland. I marinated in the sauce for about 12 hours and then grilled them. Whatever leftover meat and vegetables I didn't put on the grill, I combined with the chicken and vegetables from the "yummy dear chicken kebabs" recipe and marinated some other several hours. I so sautéed these together and added hoisin sauce and oyster sauce, salt, sesame oil, minced garlic, and olive oil. It was better. I doubt I would endeavour this again.
12/08/2017
I thought information technology was a piffling bitter. Would not make once again
05/11/2014
Absolutely dearest this!! Has a wonderful flavor and my husband and kids (picky eaters) had seconds! Has anyone tried this with chicken? I'one thousand curious to know how it came out!
07/21/2017
This tastes fantastic! I used top beef sirloin. The only affair I did differently was marinade both the meat and mushrooms together for near six hours because I didn't take enough time to marinate as the recipe states.
11/x/2017
Why would you add so much table salt when yous have already Soy Sauce which is very salty to brainstorm with? Also why would you apply vegetable oil instead of olive oil? As well y'all need some balsamic vinegar or cooking wine vinegar to balance this out. The lemon juice will non be enough.
07/31/2018
It was ok. Not actually worth all the prep
eleven/11/2017
Recipe was perfection. Huge hit with our guests. Volition definitely make it over again
06/25/2015
information technology was delicious! we didnt even marinade for so long and so i tin can imagine how delicous with longer time in the flavor!
09/09/2016
I fabricated this dish for Labor Day and everybody loved it. I volition be making this once more but with a steak!
05/06/2013
Thought these were groovy!! Did not add the common salt. Never add together Salt to anything that uses that much soy sauce. Also chose to use low sodium soy sauce.
09/12/2017
I added a picayune honey!
07/21/2016
Awesome!
06/09/2017
This is delicious!!! I dearest the flavor of the marinade. I actually splurged and made this with filet mignon. It was so easy to cut the meat and the kabobs were super yummy. Great recipe.
07/10/2019
Excellent recipe! Followed the directions. Enjoyed this very much. Very piece of cake. Great results. I would brand this one again, and again. Really enjoyed information technology. Just brand sure that you marinate your run across long enough (depending on the cut). I would definitely serve this to visitor with lots of veggies on the skewers. Thanks for posting!
06/01/2012
The marinade was a-mazing! Incredibly unproblematic and tasty. I used Tri-Tip steaks cubbed up and marinated over dark(the day of I marinated the bellpeppers and red onion and hour earlier grill fourth dimension)! They were a hit with my family, my 4 twelvemonth old ate iii kabobs.
04/25/2016
Fantastic exactly as is! I've used this marinade for pork tenderloin as well, really good. I'k also incredibly lazy and then instead of making proper kebabs I've recently started mixing everything in a 9x13 pan with some of the marinade and broiling it, turning over often. Great season, will utilize over again and again and once again!
x/08/2018
I fabricated this last night and information technology was delicious! I just had time to marinate for a couple of hours, so I imagine it would exist fifty-fifty improve with more fourth dimension. Highly recommend.
05/22/2017
The simply alter I would make is to double the sauce. Spouse said it was the best kabobs I have ever made!!
07/05/2016
This was then good! I tripled it for 12 people, and they ate all of it. Will make it again. The steak and mushrooms in the marinade was delicious. This marinade really brings out the steak flavor, The only change I fabricated was on accident I increased the Worcestershire sauce and it still came out nifty!
06/01/2017
These were amazing. I would recommend.
07/eighteen/2019
Wonderful!!! Next time, I'm deleting the common salt. My husband said information technology was perfect. It was a little salty to me. I did add together squash to the skewers. Information technology was a hitting!
07/07/2014
It a slap-up recipe!
ten/05/2019
Followed the recipe and it came out bang-up with a stiff flavour. Simply marinaded the top sirloin cut up into cubes for 4 hours and that was plenty of fourth dimension.
03/26/2019
fantastic! followed the recipe except i didn't marinate the mushrooms. i had leftover ingredients and about made them again the side by side nighttime! this is a keeper!
06/27/2015
I cut out the table salt and will make information technology over again family loved it
